According to BabyCenter, the names were selected based on the significant drop in registration numbers observed from 2023 to 2024.

Names inspired by members of the royal family, such as Catherine, Anne, Phillip, Albert and Edward also saw a drop, with each of them falling more than 100 spots.

"The news release stated that Catherine saw the most significant decline, falling a staggering 221 positions."
