Devotees of an iconic rock band are only now coming to the realization that they composed a catchy tune for Rice Krispies.

Fans of both cereal and rock music are astonished to learn that a well-known rock band has created a catchy jingle for a cereal brand.

Before achieving global fame with chart-topping hits and sold-out shows, this band was busy creating jingles for Rice Krispies. The inaugural advertisement for the cereal featured the rock icons' musical talents, and only recently have fans of the group begun to discover this commercial.

It turns out, The Rolling Stones are responsible for the catchy tune. While hits like 'Paint it Black' and 'Gimme Shelter' are what they're famously known for, they once dabbled in commercial song writing before their rise to fame.

Enthusiasts have called the Mick Jagger-fronted tune a "gem of a find" with some finding it "bad but incredible" and humorously suggesting it should've featured in their last tour.

The iconic Rice Krispies jingle has made a comeback on X, captivating fans with its nostalgic sound. One enthusiast who posted the video remarked: "Did you know that the Rolling Stones recorded a jingle for Rice Krispies back in 1964? I just found this out today..." Amy's discovery has garnered praise, with one user commenting: "Amazing share, Amy! It really has that classic early 'Stones vibe."

One more listener noted similarities between this jingle and the music of another band from that time period. They commented: "I had never come across that before! It was a real hit! It takes me back to the commercials that The Who made for The Who Sell Out."

Television enthusiasts may recognize the melody, as it was mentioned in the popular series Mad Men. One viewer shared their thoughts: "I remember it being referenced in Mad Men, but I had never seen or heard the commercial until now. I appreciate you sharing it!"

The collaboration between The Stones and a cereal advertisement left some fans perplexed, as the 'Bad Boys of Rock n' Roll' image associated with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards seemed at odds with the wholesome nature of a family-oriented product.

A fan expressed their astonishment, commenting: "I had no idea about this! It's incredible that Rice Krispies thought of them, especially since they were famously dubbed the 'Bad Boys of Rock n' Roll' back then."

It is thought that Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones penned the jingle, with Mick Jagger providing the vocals. One commenter pointed out that this might be one of the rare tracks attributed to Jones as a songwriter, stating: "This is one of the few occasions where Brian Jones is credited for writing."

It's not unusual for rock stars to become ambassadors for major advertisements. For instance, Bob Dylan created quite a stir when he endorsed Chrysler in a Super Bowl spot, and the iconic Johnny Cash, who passed away, was featured in a Taco Bell commercial back in 1992.
